WordleArchive.com is a free word game. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details to play. This page explains the small amount of data the game does use.

    Data stored on your device

The game saves a few things in your browser's local storage so it can remember them between visits: your guesses for each archive puzzle (which is how the calendar knows what you have solved, missed or started), your settings, a cached copy of the puzzle answers and the word list, whether you have already been counted in today's solve count, and the star rating you gave, if any. This data never leaves your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

    Counters and ratings

When you solve your first puzzle of the day, the game adds one to an anonymous daily counter. When you use a share button it adds one to the share counter, and when you rate the game it adds one to the counter for that star value. These counters are hosted by the free Abacus counting service (abacus.jasoncameron.dev). Only the counter is increased: no identifier, account or game content is sent with it, although, like any web request, the service can see your IP address and browser type.

    Puzzles and word list

The puzzle answers are loaded from this site, and the list of accepted guesses from our sister site Wordle.gg. These requests contain no personal data.

    Analytics and server logs

We may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count page views. Like most websites, our hosting and content delivery providers keep short-lived server logs (IP address, browser type, requested page and time) for security and to keep the site running.

    Fonts

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser downloads them.

    Advertising and cookies

The game itself does not set cookies. The site is supported by advertising served by Ezoic, which, together with its partners, may use cookies and similar technologies as described below. Visitors in regions that require it are asked for consent first, and you can change your choices at any time.
